Ниже напечатано оригинальное письмо одной американской леди, которая решила попробовать делать бусинки Lampwork по книгам и видео без профессиональных очных уроков.
I need to know if anyone has previously had this problem... when I took my torch to the gas place when I lived in Mi, we had to have them special order connections to fit my torch and the fitting to the bulk fuel tank. The part that blew was a standard brass connection, and where it blew was the part between the screw on fitting, and the hose end fitting at the torch end of the hose.
It happened so fast that all I could do was scream and get to the tank while gas was coming out of the hose. This is one time that I was glad that I was sitting within an arm's reach of the tank. I got it shut off, turned the fan, and opened the door to get any remaining gas out. Oh and I managed to get the hot glass back on top of the kiln.
The force from the fireball blew my glasses right off from my face, and burnt off my eye-lashes and a bunch of my hair. The entire right side of my face is toast.
I have been told over and over that you DO NOT need a regulator for a hothead on a BULK TANK! The hothead has one in it already! SO what is supposed to keep the pressure from the tank from BLOWING THE LINE!?!?!
I am heading to the hospital to have my eye looked at. I can barely see out of the right side.
What could have prevented this, and how many people are using these things??
